What if money wasn’t the most important thing? Choose your work from the soul

We live in a world where money is essential. Whether we like it or not, we need money to pay rent, buy food, get dressed, move around, enjoy life… In short, to live. And it’s okay to acknowledge that. Money isn’t good or bad—it’s a tool, a means, a channel that allows us to support our everyday life.

But often, we’re taught that work must be completely tied to money. That working equals sacrifice, effort, and resignation. And that, at the end of the road, that sacrifice gets rewarded with a paycheck. So we start choosing what to do with our lives not from desire or purpose, but from fear and need. And when that becomes a pattern, the results usually aren’t as positive as we’d hoped.

Some people choose their jobs based solely on how much they’ll get paid. And if that genuinely motivates them—if they enjoy the game of money, the numbers, the financial goals—that’s absolutely valid. Some souls come here to experience abundance from that perspective, and they thrive doing it.

But there are many others who, by prioritising money above all else, end up in jobs where they don’t feel valued, where they dislike what they do, where they’re constantly stressed or surrounded by toxic environments. And over time, that begins to drain their energy, affect their health, and dim their joy for life.

Choose your work from the soul

Personally, I’ve always chosen jobs that I actually liked. It wasn’t a decision I made consciously from a spiritual place—it just came naturally. I was drawn to roles that gave me a good feeling, where I felt comfortable with the environment, the team, the systems. And interestingly, the jobs where I ended up doing best financially were the ones where money wasn’t my main reason for being there. I would wake up with energy, excited to start the day, full of ideas. And because I felt so good, I performed better, I was more creative, made better decisions—and eventually, that translated into better results.

On the other hand, when I found myself in jobs I didn’t enjoy, it was the complete opposite. I’d wake up tired and overwhelmed. My body would show signs of stress—hormonal imbalances, mental fog, lack of focus. I couldn’t give 100% because I wasn’t aligned. And you could see it not only in my productivity, but also in my skin, my eyes, my mood, my motivation.

I’ve also known many people who chose their jobs only for the money, regardless of whether they liked them or not. And over time, I noticed they weren’t doing well. They looked burned out, unhappy, constantly complaining, dealing with health issues—as if life was always a struggle. Because when you’re not aligned, life doesn’t flow. It turns into a cycle of resistance, exhaustion, and disconnection.

For me, being aligned with your work means genuinely wanting to do it. It’s waking up with excitement, with ideas and motivation. It’s feeling at ease in your space, inspired by your tasks, and in harmony with your team. It’s having vitality, glowing skin, good health. It’s not getting sick all the time. It’s entering flow states where everything seems to click.

And that’s where the magic happens. When you’re aligned with what you do, when you enjoy it, when your body and mind are in sync with the task, money starts to show up. Unexpectedly. Through opportunities you weren’t even looking for, clients that find you, projects that fall into place. Your energy shifts. You stop forcing, and start flowing. And that creates a natural magnetism.

As Steve Jobs once said:

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”

And as Marsha Sinetar wrote in her book Do What You Love, the Money Will Follow:

“Do what you love, and the money will follow.”

It may sound like wishful thinking, but it’s real. It’s not magic—it’s energetic coherence.

Now, I know it’s not always possible to make a drastic change. Some people are in jobs they don’t enjoy, but they need to stay because of financial responsibilities—rent, bills, family needs. That’s totally valid too. This isn’t about judging or claiming everyone should quit everything to pursue their passion with no plan.

But what I can tell you is that there are middle paths. You can begin a transition. If you can’t leave your job right now, you can still take small steps toward what really lights you up. A course, an idea that excites you, a side project, or even an honest internal exploration about what would make you feel alive again. And when you start moving in that direction, the universe responds. Always. With signs, unexpected help, key people, and opportunities you never imagined.

It’s not a coincidence. It’s energy. When you take one step, life takes one too.
And little by little, you start creating a more aligned life.

How do you know if you’re working just for money?

From my experience as a coach and holistic therapist, some signs that you may be in a job that’s not aligned include:

  • You feel drained as soon as the week begins

  • You struggle to get out of bed—not from physical exhaustion, but lack of motivation

  • You’re dealing with recurring physical symptoms like pain, insomnia, irritability or digestion issues

  • You complain often or feel stuck and frustrated

  • You have no energy for your hobbies or your loved ones

  • You fantasise about quitting, even if you’re unsure what you’d do next

  • You feel like your talents are going to waste, or like you’re not growing

If any of these resonate, it’s not a reason to panic—but an invitation to observe.
Sometimes just asking yourself “What would make me feel more at peace or fulfilled in my work?” opens a door inside you.

Aligned soul

Abundance is more than money

Abundance isn’t just about having cash. It’s a state of fullness. It’s being in a space that energises you, inspires you, supports your wellbeing and creativity. It’s when your life has meaning, your body feels light, your mind is clear, and your soul is at ease.

Sometimes we stay in draining jobs because of fear. Fear of not having enough. Fear of instability. Fear of what people might say. But on the other side of fear is freedom. You don’t have to quit everything today—but you can start listening.
What do you enjoy?
When do you feel most alive?
What tasks make you forget about time?

We’re not all here to do the same thing. Some thrive in sales, others in teaching, others in creating or supporting. What matters is that you connect with what makes you feel whole. Because once that happens, everything else tends to align.

If you feel like your current job no longer supports your wellbeing, and you’re ready to start building a life with more meaning, energy, and abundance—I can support you.
